A couple were left baffled after two mating pythons smashed through their ceiling.
Matt Hagan, a snake catcher who responded to the emergency, revealed that such house calls are far from unusual at the height of Australia’s snake breeding season.
Matt, of Cairns Snake Catcher, rushed to the couple’s home after they noticed their ceiling was cracking under the enormous serpents’ 40 kg combined weight.
When he arrived at the house in Cairns, Far North Queensland, he found the two scrub pythons, which were each 5 meters long.
Snakes are known to plague Australians during mating season, often turning up in roof spaces.
